About the Low Vision Accessibility Task Force

The Low Vision Accessibility Task Force (LVTF) was created as a task force of the Accessibility Guidelines Working Group (AG WG) and the User Agent Accessibility Guidelines Working Group (UAWG). The UAWG has closed.

The objective of the Task Force is to address web accessibility issues specific to people with low vision. Task Force work includes:

When using the Low Vision Accessibility Task Force mailing list:

  1. Treat other list members with respect.
  2. Keep comments within the scope of this group (see Low Vision Accessibility Task Force Work Statement).
  3. When raising an issue:
    • provide a clear subject line including the topic it relates to
    • explain the issue briefly
    • propose a brief & specific solution
    • for longer comments, put a summary at the beginning
  4. When replying:
    • keep your reply comments near the top of a message
    • only quote essential parts of a previous message
    • if there are multiple topics, break them into separate emails to facilitate threading and to keep the subject line accurate
  5. Please send any questions about the mailing list itself to the Facilitators or Staff Contacts, not the whole list.
  6. No soliciting.

Participation

To participate in the Low Vision Accessibility Task Force, individuals must also be participants of the AG WG. (You don’t have to have previously participated in AG WG. You do have to sign up to participate in AG WG in order to participate in LVTF).

This Task Force is part of the AG WG Charter, which operates under the W3C Patent Policy. W3C maintains a public list of any patent disclosures made in connection with the deliverables of the AG WG.
